I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen; not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.

- C.S. Lewis

It was a rainy, foggy morning. A sunny afternoon. And a rainy, windy night. I've quite enjoyed it.

Summer's past

                                                        Ringing Rocks State Park, PA
                                                                     Jersey Shore.

                                                                Concert downtown.
Devils Lake State Park, WI

I was going through old photos today. These made me miss last summer reallyyyyy bad.
Can summer please come fast?!

I miss hiking with Cory.
Beach days.
Sandals, flip-flops, and pink toes.
Driving with the windows down.
Wearing sunglasses.
Lazy summer days with my besties.
Camping.

I am so excited tomorrow is the last day of february. March always drags, but at least its closer to winter ending. March means spring is almost here, no snow, (or at least less snow) and those few days of 50 degree weather that make people go crazy and wear shorts even though there is still snow on the ground. But can you blame them? I pretend its warmer then it actually is too.

Up North.

                                                                             A "road"

                                                        Wisconsin....................................................
(I love his "pouty model look driving face". I asked him if it was intentional. He said no.)

I got to spend the weekend with Corsizzle :).

It was a weekend full of cold noses.
Sitting in places that were warm.
Roads that have never seen a plow. Or even know what a plow is.
Nights playing games with friends.
Entertaining a 10 month old baby.
Meeting new people.
More decisions on our future.
Decisions.
Decisions.
And questions.
Soooo many questions.

Northern wiso is...................empty. And there a lot of trees. I'm gonna be living there soon.
........
But actually, it wont be too bad. I'm excited to move into (Lord willing we move up on the waiting list for housing) our cozy little apartment, be away from the big world for a little bit, and just be together. There's nothing bad about boots that are fuzzy inside, and big scarves to hide my face in. To always have a reason to wrap my hands around a mug of coffee or hot chocolate, snuggle up in a blankie with my hubby on our secondhand couch to watch a movie, (since tv reception is a dream unless you get dish) and at the end of the day get under warm blankets and hibernate till the alarm goes off to start the day all over again.

I really cannot wait.

Which definitely means I love this kid, because I am NOT a northern woods, cold weather type of girl. But I think it will end up really growing on me.

I had a good weekend. I loved being apart of his world away from me. I can't wait till our individual, separate worlds turn into one world.
Some opportunities have popped up for our almost little family. Many things to be prayed about!

My pick-me-up.

Cory and I try to skype for at least a little bit at night. His school is in the middle of no where (in other words. NO cell service), and with classes and all that, communication is always patchy.
Seeing myself in that little video box always gives me a bit of a fright. I dont realize how bad it is till the evidence is staring at me. I avoid mirrors during the week. After the usual monday of waking up at 5:45 am, chasing 4 little children all day, cleaning up after said children, and trying to convince them to eat their green beans, those little dark circles appear under my eyes, and my hair.....well. Lets not even talk about that.

But. Cory always tells me I'm beautiful. What a guy. He really knows how to cheer this girl up.

I love him.

He loves me too. Which is really great! I still dont really know why....but hey. You're not gonna hear me complain. Maybe he thinks I have good child bearing hips. Or that I'll be able to turn things around in the cooking arena and become a chef.

But no. Actually. He really likes me for being me.

I still dont get it.

But hey...still no complaining here.

Gee I miss his face.

Saturdays.

When I'm bored I go thrifting. Yesterday I scored this awesome vintage pencil skirt. Its one of those things that I can pair with almost anything in my closet. Luuurve it! Second hand stores are a place full of possibility, especially to a young poor person who will soon have to fill up a apartment. The bowls and plates are some other little useful things I found.
During my saturday excursion, my mother and I went to bridal shop to try to find a dress. Fruitless. *sigh* time is ticking.... Anyways. The point is what was next door to the bridal shop. A brand new antique store. It made the long drive to the useless bridal shop worth it! The place was absolutely charming. I wanted to buy half the store. If anybody has a extra 900 bucks laying around would they like to donate it to me? I saw a kitchen table and chair set that would look really good in my imaginary kitchen. An extra 20 or 50 would be much appreciated for all the other odds and ends that were calling my name... To make the place even more unique, the store owners were two guys who looked like they should own Harley Davidson motorcycles. Tattoos, cut off tees, beer bellies and all. But they were absolute teddy bears, and they really knew their stuff! All the sweet little old ladies that were in there just ate them up.

To those of you who think stores like Goodwill, and hole in the wall antique stores are trashy, you should really give it a try. You don't find something good every time, but sometimes you score big.

That was the most exciting thing that happened this weekend, but I have higher hopes for next!

He spoils me.

He MADE me that. Yeah. He printed out maps of where we met, where he proposed, and     where our wedding will be. Then stitched the shapes around the spots. Dang. That kid. (He also made the written heart on the far right. And yes, the picture of the sleeping child is him when he was 2 or 3ish. How cute was he?! Thank you Momma J for sending that in the mail)

A book. Chocolate. And a movie from wal-mart for our 5 buck movie collection. He's a hero. Corsizzle knows me well.

It was a pretty good Valentines Day package :)

Happy Valentines Day to my Valentine :).

.....a couple days late.....

Beginning.

I met the love of my life on September 7th, 2010. If you ask him, it was love at first sight. I just thought he was cute. I had  no idea the things he had in store for me... 6 months and counting till our wedding. I'm all tingly with anticipation.

I wanted to start this blog to record the preparation for marriage, wedding craziness, and eventually our life together (!!!!!) yay. We live states away. We share states for college, but his is far away, so this is a long distance relationship. NO. Fun. The idea of being able to see him for longer then once a month for 3 days at a time is heavenly. I don't have specific plans for where this blog will go, but I think it will evolve on its own. I do plan that it will be a good outlet for our combined creativity, a place to put ideas, adventures we'll have, a way for family and friends to keep up with us, and a place to put our memories :).
Bam!
